We’re pioneering a community initiative by linking schools with our Day-Today convenience stores, with the help of Highland Spring Water. We’re giving away over 100,000 vouchers to almost 500 primary and secondary schools in Scotland to collect a free bottle of Highland Spring Water from their local Day-Today stores.
We’ve identified all the schools within a half mile radius of each of our 212 Day Today stores to participate in the project and receive free water vouchers to redeem exclusively at all Day Today stores. Almost 133,000 pupils across Scotland will benefit from the campaign.
Our Managing Director, Asim Sarwar explains: “We operate the largest symbol group in the Scotland central belt and we feel it is important for these stores to be an integral part of the community. Linking up with Highland Spring water is a fantastic way for our stores to engage with their local communities and build ties with the schools whilst promoting the health benefits of drinking water.
“We hope it inspires the school children – these shop’s future customers – to consider being healthier, drinking plenty of water and the importance of good hydration. At the same time we hope that this campaign will help build awareness of the Day Today brand and ultimately become synonymous with helping the community.”
Highland Water has donated the stock to help fulfil this project.
Group Sales Director at Highland Spring Group, Simon Oldham added: “This is an exciting initiative from United Wholesale. Water consumption levels in Scotland are amongst the lowest in the developed world. At the end of the day, we simply don’t drink enough water. Even mild levels of dehydration can cause reduced levels of concentration, which is all the more important for children. As a Scottish business, we are delighted to support this campaign which focuses on local communities whilst at the same time promoting healthy hydration”.
It is also being supported with a TV advertising campaign which United Wholesale is running throughout September.
